Broadlake are a Private Equity Company who, during my tenure had significant investments in 8 companies. Broadlake found themselves often tarnished with the unpleasant brush that private equity or ‘vulture funds’ so often do. The sterile pale colours of traditional PE firms and staid ‘men in suits’ stock imagery generally associated with the field didn’t reflect the people involved within the company.
Here’s where I come in…
I was hired to be a ‘Digital Marketing Ninja’ when my work was recognised by company founder Pete back in 2015. “We want to stand out amongst the grey, and be noticed for being different, because we are”. Importantly, Pete wasn’t lying, the people in this business were vibrant, odd, energised and very much the opposite of what I anticipated when I viewed their website and socials. My job was to communicate this externally, so that budding entrepreneurs, small and medium sized business teams and the wider communities would see a real company, with real people, who are obsessed with helping you win… and who creatively embrace the weird and wonderful in between.
